What commodities does Mbae purchase?
We purchase cashew nuts, pigeon peas, lentils, grains (maize, sorghum, millet), legumes (beans, cowpeas) and other agricultural commodities. Contact us to discuss your specific produce.
How is the price determined for my produce?
Prices are based on current market rates, commodity quality, moisture content and quantity. We offer fair, transparent pricing and our team will explain the pricing basis before any purchase.
How quickly will I be paid after selling?
Payment terms are agreed before purchase. We aim to pay promptly — typically within the agreed timeframe after delivery and quality verification.
What quality standards does Mbae require?
Quality requirements vary by commodity. Generally we require produce to be properly dried, cleaned, free from foreign matter and within acceptable moisture levels. Our team will provide specific requirements for your commodity.
What happens if my produce doesn't meet quality standards?
Our team will assess your produce and advise on any quality issues. In some cases we can still purchase at an adjusted price. We also provide guidance on how to improve quality for future sales.
Do you provide quality testing at collection points?
Yes, we conduct moisture testing and visual quality assessment at our collection points. For export commodities, we may also conduct laboratory testing.
Where does Mbae operate?
We operate across multiple regions in Tanzania including Mtwara, Lindi, Coast, Dodoma, Singida, Tabora, Morogoro, Iringa and others. Contact us to confirm coverage in your area.
Can I register as a regular supplier?
Yes. We welcome regular supplier relationships with farmers and agricultural producers. Registered suppliers receive advance market information, priority purchase arrangements and consistent pricing.
Does Mbae provide any support to farmers?
Yes. Beyond commodity purchasing, we provide market information, quality guidance and agricultural support to our supplier network. We also work with farmers on improving produce quality and post-harvest handling.
Who does Mbae sell commodities to?
We supply to domestic processors, food manufacturers, institutional buyers, regional buyers in East Africa and international buyers in Asia, the Middle East and Europe — depending on the commodity.
Can I purchase commodities from Mbae?
Yes. If you are a domestic or international buyer interested in Tanzanian agricultural commodities, contact us to discuss your requirements, volumes and supply arrangements.
What documentation do you provide for export commodities?
We provide all required export documentation including phytosanitary certificates, quality certificates, weight certificates and other documents required by destination markets.
